Serving In And Beyond The Uniform

My Service Journey

When I was just 17 years old, my parents took me to several recruiting offices- across the branches- and after a few bad experiences and almost joining the Air Force, I ended up joining the United States Navy. Featured here is my boot camp photograph.

During my time in service, I did not get to sail with classic American heroes. Instead, I personally experienced and encountered toxic and neglectful leadership, suicides, a murder, addiction, military-on-military violence, blackmail, bribery, lies, and people being disregarded as human.

God has aligned my life to serve beyond the uniform- both the military populace and civilians. Below you'll find photographs of me working with different military non-profits, veterans, civilian organizations, and veteran businesses.

Through podcasting, speaking, writing, and networking, I hope to continue to influence, impact, and inspire. My ultimate goal is to help create better mentorship for new military members and create a better military environment overall.

The Intersections Of Morality & Courage

Above is the title of my chapter, featured in the book pictured here. Writing is one of the mediums through which I hope to reach people, share my military experience, and enact change.

In it, I explore how courage and bravery aren't just about the dramatic physical feats you see, but also the quiet moments of moral decision-making. I share about my experience in boot camp, just a few weeks after I turned eighteen, where I was faced with a potential homicide-suicide. I had people's lives and careers in my hands, and this story reveals the complex between protecting lives and considering the consequences of our actions when faced with an indeterminable situation.
